Healtheries Naturopath shares tips for keeping your children healthy over the colder months
It’s a tough world out there for children’s immune systems. Germs and viruses are just waiting for a chance to get them sniffling and sneezing. If you want to avoid spending yet more time with them at the doctor’s, here are some top tips for toughening up their immunity.
Make sure they’re wearing their winter woollies! Layers help trap the warmth – and don’t forget scarves, mittens and beanies to cover icy ears.
Fill their hungry tums with lots of good, wholesome food. Even the pickiest eaters will find it hard to resist piping hot soups, roasted veges, and wholegrain bread on a cold day.
Healthy immune systems need plenty of rest. Ensure they’re snuggled up warm and cosy during long, chilly winter nights, and have a hot water bottle on standby if they need it.
Sometimes, even the best-nourished children can come down with coughs and sniffles. If you’re still worried about them catching colds or flu, look for a natural supplement that’s formulated specifically for their little bodies. Children’s supplements based on Vitamin C, Garlic or Echinacea are ideal. Vitamin A, Zinc and Iron are also important nutrients to keep their immune systems in fighting shape.
Healtheries KidsCare® Immunity is a natural way to support your kid's immune system. These great tasting, chewable tablets contain Vitamin C, Vitamin A, Zinc and Olive Leaf...a few helpers for our little ones. Children who are actively fighting off a cough or flu may sometimes need more – if you’re concerned, talk to a naturopath or health professional.
