It’s easy for our bodies to slow down too during the colder months so now the sun is back it’s the perfect time to put some spring back into your step!

See some of our energising tips below: 

  • De-clutter your bedroom, lounge, cupboard or whatever space that has been needing a makeover for a while. Throw out or donate to a charity, shelter or needy family any objects that you no longer require. Living in an organised and happy space can do wonders for the mind.
  • Say no to foods that make your digestive system feel sluggish and your energy levels crash. Tune into your body and differentiate between which foods energise you and others that only satisfy your taste buds and cravings rather than nourish your body. Eat a rainbow of fresh fruits and veggies daily, the more the better!   • Keep well hydrated. One of the first signs of dehydration is tiredness. Every cell in the body requires water to function well. Start the day with a lukewarm glass of water with a squeeze of lemon if you wish. Try to have a total of 8 glasses of water per day.  
  • Remember to breathe. Sounds simple enough but many people are shallow breathers and don’t use the full capacity of the lungs. Take a few moments during the day to breathe deeply and slowly at least ten times. This practice not only calms the body down, helping reduce stress levels, but also fills the lungs with extra oxygen allowing it to circulate and energise the body. 
  • Greet spring with a new attitude towards exercise. Maybe you need to vamp up your exercise routine, sign up for a race or perhaps you just need to get moving more throughout the day. Whatever you choose aim to sit less and move more. Spring can be an inspiring time of year and provides an opportune time to make some positive changes in your life. Who knows, maybe those changes might even last all year!
