Wheat and Gluten Free Cheese Scones Cheese Scones (makes 4 scones)
1 ½ cups Simple Baking Mix
1 tsp baking powder
Pinch of salt
50g butter
½ cup grated cheese
½ cup milk
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 220˚C. Lightly dust an oven tray with Simple Baking Mix.
2. Sift Baking Mix, baking powder and salt into a large bowl. Cut butter into mixture until it resembles fine breadcrumbs. Stir in cheese. Add milk and mix quickly to a soft dough with a knife. Knead a few times and press into a 2.5 cm thick square. Cut out 4 rounds (or cut into squares) and place on prepared oven tray. Brush tops with milk and bake for 13-15 minutes.
