Ingredient Information

Beta-Carotene

  • Beta-carotene is a natural plant compound that our bodies convert into Vitamin A as they need it. This helps our bodies to avoid storing too much Vitamin A.
  • Vitamin A supports normal growth and development, and healthy vision, bones, hair, teeth and gums.
  • Vitamin A also helps to maintain our natural immunity against coughs, colds and other common respiratory infections.

B Complex Vitamins (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B12, Biotin, Folic Acid)

  • B complex vitamins are critical to help our bodies metabolise carbohydrates, protein and fat into energy.
  • Because B vitamins are water-soluble, we need to replenish our levels each day. Stress or illness can increase our need for B complex vitamins.
  • B Complex vitamins help to maintain healthy nervous system function. Low levels can lead to tiredness, irritability, emotional imbalance, digestive problems, and difficulties coping with stress.
  • B Vitamins should be taken as a complex, as individual B vitamins tend to work together.

Vitamin C

  • Vitamin C is “the immunity vitamin”. It helps our bodies to build up resistance to all kinds of common infections; and can help to reduce our recovery time.
  • Our white blood cells (part of our immune system) need Vitamin C to function normally and help us fight off bacterial / viral infections. These infections also increase our need for Vitamin C.
  • Our body uses Vitamin C to make collagen – a protein that helps to form healthy skin, ligaments, tendons, bones and teeth.
  • Vitamin C helps our bodies to absorb Iron – a mineral we need for healthy red blood cells, which help to reduce fatigue and support immunity.

Bioflavonoid Complex

  • Bioflavonoids are strongly antioxidant compounds found in citrus fruits.
  • Our bodies use them to strengthen blood vessels and help repair bruised/damaged tissue.
  • Bioflavonoids also help to support immunity, and to calm histamine (allergy) responses.

Vitamin D/Calcium

  • Our bodies use Calcium to build strong, healthy, dense bones.
  • Vitamin D helps our bodies to absorb and use dietary Calcium and Phosphorus. It may also help to support healthy immunity.

Vitamin E

  • Vitamin E is a powerful natural antioxidant that helps to protect our cell membranes from free radical damage. This can help with healing our skin.

Magnesium

  • Our bodies use Magnesium to help maintain a healthy nervous system and support emotional balance.
  • Magnesium can assist with relaxing tense or cramping muscles, and helps to produce energy. It can also help with stress.

Iron

  • Our bodies use Iron to produce haemoglobin, the molecule that transports oxygen to our tissues and muscles. This is why low Iron levels can affect our energy levels.
  • Healtheries Kidscare Multivitamin and Mineral tablets use ferrous Iron, which is easier for children’s bodies to absorb.

Zinc

  • Our bodies use Zinc to help absorb and use B complex vitamins.
  • Zinc is important for healthy skin and a strong immune system. It also helps our bodies to cope with stress and fatigue, and to heal injuries.

Potassium

  • Potassium is important for healthy heart muscle activity, as well as nervous system and kidney health.

Manganese

  • Manganese is used to form blood, and to help our bodies metabolise fats and carbohydrates.
  • Our bodies also use Manganese to produce important fatty acids.

Chromium

  • Chromium is a trace mineral that our bodies use to maintain balanced blood sugar levels.
  • Our bodies use Chromium to metabolise energy from glucose, and it plays a role in producing fatty acids and cholesterol. It also appears to help make our natural insulin more effective.

Selenium

  • Selenium is a trace mineral that works with Vitamin E as a powerful antioxidant. It is important for healthy heart function and immunity.
  • New Zealand soils are particularly low in Selenium.
