Bran & Chia Biscuits

Perfect for dunking in hot drinks or having alongside your favourite fruit tea, these tasty biscuits combine bran flakes and chia seeds for a boost of fibre. Great for the school lunchbox.

  • 100g butter
  • 1/3 cup sugar 
  • 1/4 cup reduced fat milk 
  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3/4 cup Healtheries Bran Flakes
  • 1/4 cup Healtheries Black Chia Seeds

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C and line a baking tray with baking paper and position the oven rack in the middle of the oven.
  2. Soften butter, add sugar and beat with a wooden spoon until well mixed. Stir in the milk.
  3. Mix the flour, baking powder, bran and chia seeds in a separate bowl.
  4. Add the wet mix to the dry mix and stir to make a soft dough.
  5. Roll into balls and press lightly with a fork on the baking tray.
  6. Bake at 180 C for 10 minutes or until slightly golden.
  7. Cool on a wire rack, then store in an airtight container.

Serving Suggestions

Serve warm for afternoon tea or pop into the lunchbox for a tasty snack.
