Chia Meatballs

Great served with your favourite pasta sauce and a salad on the side. The kids will love them!

  • 500g of lean steak mince
  • 1/2 cup of Healtheries Ground Chia Seeds soaked in 1 cup of water
  • 1 Tbsp sundried tomato paste
  • 2 cloves crushed garlic
  • Pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

*For a gluten free dish, ensure all ingredients are gluten free

Method

  1. Pre-heat oven to 180 degrees C.
  2. In a large bowl, thoroughly combine mince and pre-soaked chia seeds.
  3. Add remaining ingredients to the bowl and mix well.
  4. Roll into 16-18 balls.
  5. Bake at 180 degrees for 30 minutes, flipping after 15 minutes.

Serving Suggestions

Season with cracked pepper to taste and serve with your favourite side salad and carbohydrate option such as brown rice, wholemeal pasta or wholemeal bread product.
