In today’s world of work, family and social activities, maintaining an ideal bodyweight can be a real challenge for many of us.

The answer to ‘successfully’ managing a chaotic lifestyle often comes in the form of quick-fix solutions. In terms of the foods we eat, our diet can really suffer from convenience food options which are generally energy dense and nutrient poor. Add to this a lack of physical activity and our waistline can really begin to show the effects!

Weight management tips for busy people:

  • Swap high calorie, high sugar beverages like juices, soft drinks and energy drinks for a refreshing herbal or green tea.
  • Be prepared by doing a weekly shop and aim to fill your trolley with plenty of fresh produce. Pack your lunch the night before so you have everything you need. Use filling, low calorie foods to bulk up your meals and keep you feeling satisfied for longer. Foods like low-starch vegetables and fruit or soups (minus the cream).
  • Ensure you include a good source of quality protein with each meal and as snacks to help promote satiety, like canned tuna in springwater, lean meat, boiled eggs, low fat dairy and legumes.
  • Choose wholegrain carbohydrate sources which typically contain more protein and fibre, and are therefore more filling than their highly refined white alternatives.
  • Exercise briskly for a minimum of half an hour per day.

In addition to the above, Healtheries has a number of products which when used in conjunction with a calorie - controlled diet and exercise programme may help support you in meeting your weight management goals.

Garcinia Cambogia

Garcinia cambogia is a fruit native to Indonesia and grown throughout India, Southeast Asia, and some parts of Africa. Garcinia has a long history of use in cooking, where it is a common ingredient used in curries and chutneys. Garcinia cambogia extract is taken from the peel of its pumpkin-like fruit. This peel is rich in the active component Hydroxycitric acid (HCA). HCA is believed to support weight management by blocking an enzyme which is responsible for converting excess carbohydrates into stored body fat. HCA may also help by supporting serotonin levels. Low serotonin has been linked to 'comfort' eating.

Scientific studies have shown that 1200mg of HCA per day can assist weight management when taken in conjunction with a calorie-controlled diet and exercise programme. Healtheries Naturally Slim Garcinia Cambogia 4000 is a high potency product that contains the equivalent of 4000mg of Garcinia cambogia dry fruit rind per capsule, providing 480mg of Hydroxycitric Acid (HCA 60%).

Combining your diet and exercise program with Healtheries Garcinia cambogia could be just what you need to get ahead with your weight management program.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar also known as ‘ACV’ is made by crushing fresh apples, the liquid portion (apple juice) is then removed and yeast and bacteria are added. Natural sugars in the apple juice are fermented to alcohol which is further converted to vinegar by the bacteria. ACV will often contain ‘Mother’, cloudy strings of enzymes, protein and good bacteria - which although doesn’t look especially appealing, is in fact where all the good stuff is said to be! Apple Cider Vinegar is an incredibly versatile, multi-purpose ingredient.

Healtheries Apple Cider Vinegar is a quality vinegar produced from sun ripened New Zealand grown apples. Healtheries ACV contains no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. Due to the natural processing of this product you may find naturally occurring sediment or ‘mother of vinegar’ forming in it. Healtheries Apple Cider Vinegar is a great tasting general tonic and a great addition to your daily regime.
