Almond and Orange Oat Cake

This healthy cake recipe combines the nutty flavours of almond oil, walnuts, and LSA with natural orange zest and wholesome oats.

  • 1 cup reduced fat plain unsweetened yoghurt
  • 1 cup oats
  • ¼ cup of brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup Healtheries Almond Oil
  • Grated rind of 1 orange
  • 1-2 Tbsp. juice of orange
  • ¾ cup of sultanas
  • ½ cup of walnuts
  • 4 Tbsp. Healtheries LSA Super Grains
  • 1 cup standard flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp cinnamon


  1. Pre heat your oven to 160 degrees. Lightly grease a medium cake tin.
  2. Combine the yoghurt, oats, sugar, egg, oil and orange juice in a large bowl and stir.
  3. Add the orange rind, sultanas, walnuts and LSA to the mix and stir to combine. Stand for 5 minutes.
  4. In a separate bowl mix the flour, baking powder, soda and cinnamon.
  5. Add flour mix to the yoghurt mix and stir until just combined.
  6. Transfer mix into the baking tin and bake for 40 - 45 minutes.

Serving Suggestions

Great by itself with your favourite fruit tea. For a sweet treat top with vanilla or orange zest icing or heat and enjoy with a dollop of low fat yoghurt and orange zest.
