Tired and sick of getting colds and flu in winter? Over 200 viruses can cause the common cold. If you’re finding them hard to avoid, research suggests that Echinacea is the natural remedy for you.
A meta-analysis of fourteen combined trials of Echinacea indicates that taking it could halve your chances of catching a cold. It may also shorten the duration of a cold by an average of a day and half. Using Echinacea was found to reduce the risk of catching a cold by 58%, while combining it with Vitamin C reduced cold incidence by 86% in one study.
Researchers commented that these studies give more validity to supporting our immune systems with herbal medicines to fight off common infections.
