3 Easy Dips to Snack On

Stuck for after-school snack ideas? Or perhaps you need something to get you through the afternoon at work? Try one of our simple, tasty dips!

Beetroot and Yoghurt Dip

Beetroot is a source of fibre and essential nutrients. Combine it with natural yoghurt for a smooth dip and serve with Healtheries Twirls and veggie sticks for crunch appeal!

Ingredients

  • 400g baby beetroot, drained
  • 175g natural yoghurt
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp cinnamon, ground

For this yummy dip, simply combine all the ingredients in a food processor and blend until smooth.

Homemade Hummus

An easy hummus dip is snack that’s full of goodness. If you little ones aren't keen on garlic, you can easily take out, or sub in a small amount of garlic powder.

  • 1 can chickpeas
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp tahini paste
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Salt and pepper to taste

To make hummus at home, first drain and rinse the chickpeas and peel and crush the garlic clove. Then, place the chickpeas, garlic, lemon juice and tahini paste in a food processor and process until combined. Add a little water and process again until smooth. Add water until the hummus is the texture you like and then season to taste.

Chunky Guacamole

Dial up the deliciousness at snack time with this Mexican-inspired dip. It’s simple to make with just a few ingredients and so, so good!

  • 2 avocados
  • 1 tomato
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste

There are loads of ways to make guac, but for this simple version, we recommend using a fork to mash the avocado in a bowl. Then dice your tomatoes & stir through the avocado with lemon juice. Finally, season to taste.
