Daylight saving tends to bring a shift in people’s outlooks, whether that is a more positive mind-set, more social activities, or getting active outdoors more regularly. It is also a good time to reflect on your progress with any personal goals you may have set earlier in the year, or perhaps you have some new goals you’d like to achieve before the end of the year comes.
Take some time to stop for a moment and think, what are your personal goals at the moment?
How are you feeling?
What’s important to you?
Is there anything you’d like to do more of?
When we talk to our friends and family, common goals often include maintaining a better work-life balance, spending more time with family, saving money, exercising more often or eating better. If one of your goals is to manage your weight, making healthy food choices and getting active regularly will play key roles in achieving this.
When it comes to getting active it’s important to find something that works for you - whether that’s because you enjoy it, you go with a friend, or because it’s convenient, as you will find it much easier to keep doing it regularly and make it an ongoing part of your routine. The warmer summer weather and the lighter evenings make it much easier to get out walking, running, biking, join a sports team or even start a boot camp! Yoga, Pilates and Zumba are also popular. Thankfully all the cold and wet winter weather that can easily dampen even your best intentions has passed now!
If eating better is something you would like to focus on, make the most of the simplicity the warmer weather brings to include light and fresh meal options with plenty of colour and nutrient variety. You might like to look up some new and inspiring salad recipes to try. There are plenty of diverse flavours and textures you can find in modern day salads like those based on broccoli, cauliflower, grated carrot, baby spinach or cabbage. Many salads now include a variety of fruits, raw or roasted vegetables, and nuts or seeds such as LSA & Chia Seeds.
When it comes to healthy snacking during summer there is always plenty of fresh fruit to enjoy which can be eaten fresh or mixed with yoghurt, nuts, and seeds for a more filling snack. You could also try out different smoothie recipes using protein powder in combination with fruit or green vegetables for extra nutrients.
If you are short on time for a meal, you might like to try our Healtheries Naturally Slim Meal Replacement powders. The latest addition to the range are our Naturally Slim Essential Proteins Super Reds and Super Greens. Our Naturally Slim Meal Replacement powders can be used to replace up to one meal per day and can be used in conjunction with other products in the range which include protein powders, teas and supplements to support your weight management goals.
Whether you have a specific goal in mind or a resolution yet to tick off, our best advice for this time of year is to use the extra daylight and positive vibes to enjoy the things that are important to you in life.
